Sorry that I missed a post. I couldn’t log into wordpress because I had thought something happened, heh. Anywho, even though gamers have been having mixed reactions towards home, business’s are finding a good use for this Virtual World. Some companies are exploring the possibilities of holding meetings over Playstation’s Home as a part of a research project, to reduce traveling expenses and fuel emissions.
“Increasingly we are living in a world without borders where workers need to collaborate on a global scale,” Advanced Workplace Associates managing director Andrew Mawson said.
“Audio and video-conferencing solutions have emerged, but the use of virtual worlds may offer the next evolution in overcoming the tyranny of distance – a more realistic and learning-enhanced environment.”
Companies like Ernst & Young and Merrill Lynch have been giving Home meetings a try, along with Microsoft, even though it’s on the Playstation 3, their rival console.
