The years of 2009/2010 appear to be big for Ubisoft. Ubisoft is planning on releasing seven major titles, starting in the second quarter of 2009.  These seven titles will consist of three new brands and four movie titles.

The games that will be released includes Assassin’s Creed 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction, and Ghost Recon. The movie titles include the Avatar, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and more. They are planning on working on incorporating the “MotionPlus” for Red Steel 2. Honestly, that game has me excited. The last game wasn’t anything completely extraordinary, but at most, it has potential. I hope they do it “right” this time, and make Red Steal 2 really something memorable. That new Splinter Cell game also has caught my eye, I’ve been a fan ever since Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. I hope that game turns out to be good also. As for Ghost Recon…. I gave up on that series a while ago.

“2009-10 looks very promising and our teams are working flat-out to provide gamers with the best the industry has to offer,” said Yves Guillemot, the Ubisoft president . “Our line-up comprises several potential blockbusters with the launch of seven franchises, including Assassin’s Creed, Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon, as well as four license-based games including James Cameron’s Avatar, three new brands and a further-enhanced casual games portfolio. Although we have to be cautious in light of the current economic environment, we expect Ubisoft to once again be one of the most dynamic and profitable publishers in the games industry in 2009.”

They are focusing on the major titles, but they aren’t completely giving up on the smaller ones.
