This coming June 19th, the new iPhone 3GS is going to be hitting stores at a price between $200 – $300. Announced today during their annual World Wide Developers Conference. Not only that, but it will also sport a more advanced graphics chip and quickened network connectivity.The 16GB model is selling for $199 and the 32GB model is selling for $299.
It’s release date is during the same week as the 3.0 firmware release, focusing on the gaming department. The original iPhone is staying on the market, as an 8GB model at $99. Apple declares it as the fastest iPhone made to date. Commenting that graphics intense applications will be ran better than before, due to the iPhones ability to make use of the OpenGL ES 2.0 standard. The 3GS will also include a 3MP autofocus camera, 30 FPS video capturing and a built in digital compass.
The battery life has also been improved, getting 9 hours on Wifi and 30 hours on audio. The Apple 3.0 Firmware is going to add a wealth of gaming features to the iPhone, making use of that new gaming centric graphics chip.
