Prototype: Any Action Fan’s Dream

So, today I was bored so I thought, hey, I’ll go buy Prototype. I’ve seen some pretty rough reviews, such as the game getting a 7.5 out of 10. Now, while I’ve only played through a small portion of the game, let me tell you, this game is pretty amazing. Any action fan shouldn’t be without this one in their arsenal.

You start off with all of the abilities and skills, sort of a test run actually. Where you’re able to use your character to the fullest ability. You’ll see that there are many combos to be done, things to be explored, enemies to be killed and the graphics are good to marvel at. Especially in the epic scenes where an air strike may be put on your position. Running away from that, or even one of those infected enemies, and watching your character hop off scenary as everything behind him explodes…. It makes the game that much more worth playing, I think, heh. A lot of people crave that cinematic yet controlled feeling in their games.

The story isn’t anything spectacular, but the action is what you buy this for. Especially if you were a fan of the Hulk: Ultimate Destruction game. They’re actually quite similar. You are able to harm civilians, harm enemies of the sort, you have strike teams that come after you and you can do race missions. This game has missions that requires you to steal vehicles, steal identities and destroy targets. Pretty straight forward, but the side tracking can also make this game fun as well. Once I got my hammerfists, I was wreaking havoc all over the place. It’s pretty fun to have one of those pink infected monsters chase you throughout the city, since they’re as quick and nimble as you are, maybe even quicker. They’ll toss things at you, knock things out the way, and dash at you in a rage to get the job done.

All in all, I’ve only played about 2 hours of the game so far, probably a lot of that time spent free roaming, and I like it already. If you’re an Action Adventure fan, you definitely need this. If you’re looking for a quick thrill, heck, you should even rent this. Don’t let this game go under the radar if you’re looking for something new!
