BattleField Heroes, good for quick fun

Not a news post, per say, but something good anyway. BattleField Heroes is a fairly new multiplayer game that is on the PC. It just got out of it’s betaphase, if I heard correctly. Anyway, this is a game that is good for some quick kills or fun. It’s not anything epic, like Call of Duty or something, but if you’re bored, you should definitely give BattleField Heroes a try.

They have different classes, like the damage dealing class, the damage taking class, and the stealthy class. Personally, I have had some fun with it from time to time. When you have a good team and you battle over a flag, it’s pretty cool. They also have vehicles, such as jeeps, tanks and airplanes. If you buy BF Points, you can customize your character in different and distinct ways. As you level up, you put up your abilities and you get new skills and weapons. It’s a fairly descent game to say the least. It is also not very demanding, in terms of graphics. If you put the graphics on the max settings, then sure, it’ll look good and tax your computer. However, my low end Laptop can handle this game quite well.

So, whether you have a low end or high end computer, this game can give you some quick fun.

Agent to be very different from GTA, says Rockstar

Not much is known about Rockstar’s upcoming exclusive Playstation 3 title, Agent, other than the little details given to us by Sam Houser. According to him, Agent, which is set in the 1970’s during the height of the Cold War, is gonna be full of espionage and and will be the “ultimate action game experience”. Sounds like a plan to me, I’m already hyped even with this little information on the game.

Ben Feder, Take-Two CEO, adds a little more information into the mix. He adds that Agent will have a very, very, different Storyline and character development than that of the GTA franchise. It’s a game set in the 1970’s about espionage, instead of the usual urban experience given by the GTA franchise. That’s typically a rags to riches type experience, for GTA. Feder says that it will¬† a fresh experience for gamers.

Ben Feder goes on to say doesn’t reveal much more about that, though. Besides leaving their thoughts that gamers will be blown away by it. I’m sure this game is going to be nothing short of amazing, I can’t wait. It’s reasons like this, that I’m getting the Ps3. FF13 versus, Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, God of War 3, and now Agent. Jeez, lol, all of these amazing games are going to be emptying out my wallet.

Grand Theft Auto: ChinaTown Wars headed for the PSP

Grand Theft Auto: ChinaTown Wars, arguably one of the best DS games, is now coming to the Playstation Portable as announced by Take-Two interactive. Not only that, but it’ll be downloadable for the PspGo as well.

The Founder of Rockstar Games, Sam Houser, said that they are glad to bring the hit GTA game over to the PSP and PSPGo. The PSP is a better host for Grand Theft Auto games of such magnitude, I think anyway. The Grand Theft Auto:ChinaTown Wars for the DS only sold 89,000 copies in it’s first month. For a game apart of such a popular franchise, it should have sold that many in, at most, a week. Some people began to wonder if the DS was the right choice to put such a mature game onto.

Some even suggest Piracy had something to do with the poor sales, which is understandable I guess. Many people have their R4’s ready to download any games that come out. However, those who will get the PSPGo, will not be able to hack in any way. The age of hacking possibly comes to an end with the age of digital distribution.¬† In any case, when Grand Theft Auto: ChinaTown Wars comes over to the PSP, sales will be able to be compared then.

Jack Tretton, President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America, says that GTA games are an important part of Playstation Platforms success. And welcomes it as an epic addition to their line-up of games. This game will be available as both UMD and Digital Download.

iPhone Commodore 64 Emulator Denied

A pretty nifty emulator was made by Manomio, and submitted to the App store. Manomio’s C64 Emulator wasn’t accepted by Apple, and not for licensing reasons as one might expect at first. The app isn’t following the App terms, an app may not itself install or launch any other executable code by any means. Or to make things simple, it means you can’t run roms.

However, what Apple doesn’t seem to realize is that a number of App’s already break this rule. Including Sega’s Golden Axe and Sonic’s iPhone games, which are nothing more than emulators packaged with the original game roms.

This app was denied last week, and it isn’t yet known if developers will take further action. I hope they don’t give up so soon, they already went through the trouble of getting proper licensing. It seems like it would be a good app, probably priced at 99 cents, they could probably make a good amount of money. I hope it works out for them.

Added Storage to Xbox 360 Arcade Models

Recently, members of the XboxHacker forum have found out that Microsoft has been shipping consoles with a new Jasper model that allowed for twice the storage. While Microsoft hasn’t commented on it at the time, it seems as if they stealthily upgraded the storage to twice of what it once was. Well, now it’s official and Microsoft confirms it. Xbox 360 Arcade consoles now ship with a whopping 512 mb of storage.

A Microsoft spokes person says that they are doubling the size from 256MB to 512MB to offer consumers a bit more memory at the same low price, for added Xbox live experience. The new Xbox 360 Arcade models with the Jasper unit have been shipping since April of 2009.

Personally, 512 seems useless to me and a lot others. That can’t even fit a demo, really. I know it’s not for the hardcore gamers, but 512mb is just pathetic, I think anyway. But to each his own I guess, I personally am happy with 20gb of storage, and I could even use more.
