For those of you who haven’t heard about the “Prestige” and “Hardened” editions of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, they are extra editions of the game, that come with everything from an exclusive art book to fully functional night vision goggles.
The top edition of Modern Warfare 2 will come with NightVision goggles, and a sculpted McTavish head to hold them on. Not only that, but it comes with a code to download the original Call of Duty off of Xbox Live or the Playstation network, and a steelbook case. The original Call of Duty will have multiplayer support, for both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. The second you hear the fully functional night vision goggles part, you should immediately wonder what the price is. If you’re planning on getting the top edition, Prestige edition, of Modern Warfare 2, (the one that comes with all the standard premium contents along with the goggles and sculpted head), expect to pay $149. That’s the retail price for the Prestige edition, as confirmed by Infinity Wards twitter.
However, the hardened edition is $80, and still comes with the code for the original Call of Duty. Expected to be released this coming November, keep your eyes open for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2! Anyone disappointed in Call of Duty World at War, anyone looking for collectibles for the Call of Duty Franchise, or anyone looking for a new FPS game to play should definitely check this out.
BattleField 1943 has been recently released, and has been going good so far. After 43 million kills are achieved, the fourth Coral Sea map will be unlocked and allowed for play. After the first day of fighting, the community has clocked in over 5 million deaths already. Already more than 10 percent of the way there.
In a forum post updating Battlefield 1943’s response to the demand, they’ve added more server capacity to meet the demands. I didn’t know Battlefield was that good of a game until now, actually. It seems like many people are loving this. On just the first day alone on the Xbox 360, more than 29 years of gameplay was completed, that sounds ridiculous. Those are just some of the funfacts that were being posted on the forums. MTV calculates that it’ll take at or around 2 weeks for Xbox 360 users to reach the 43 million kills achievement.
I’m gonna have to check out that Battlefield 1943 game, it sounds like something all FPS players should check out.
Killzone 2’s second group of Downloadable Map Packs is coming out next month, titled as the “Flash and Thunder” Map Pack. In which two of the maps are making a return from the dead, as revamped maps from the original Killzone.
The Killzone 2 Flash and Thunder Map Pack includes two maps from the first Killzone, completely remade to be played on the Playstation 3. The two maps are titled the Beach Head map and the Southern Hills map. Beach Head is a more closed quarters match while Southern Hills is more open ended.
The Killzone 2 map packs are pretty…. small I think. For a map pack that I’m used to getting, that is. But just two maps for one map pack, seems a bit lack luster.
Yes, Game Informer will have a World Exclusive first look at Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. 10 pages of exclusive content and new information, enough to “blow your mind”.
There was actually a 15 second teaser trailer, with actual ingame game play, of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 released a little bit earlier too. It featured underwater gameplay and shooting on snowmobiles, looked fun. But that doesn’t quite offer enough information, and hopefully Game Informer will be more in-depth. It looks as if Infinity Ward is trying to do even better then Call of Duty 4 and think outside the box.
For those of you with Game Informer subscriptions, prepare to get your mind blown. We haven’t had a real Call of Duty game since Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Call of Duty World at War was just a disappointment. Or, that’s what most Call of Duty 4 players felt when they got a chance to play Call of Duty World at War. I have a feeling that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will rejuvenate my love for the Call of Duty series.
Coming in July, Epic Games will be releasing their Gears of War 2: All Fronts Collection for retail, giving insight on the talked about “Dark Corners” DLC.
Not to long ago, there were rumors about a collection of downloadable content called “Dark Corners”. However, this is not wrong, Dark Corners is DLC, yeah, but it is the map pack that is being sold along with the Gears 2: All Fronts Collection. This map pack holds seven new multiplayer titles, and will go for 1600 Microsoft Points.
This isn’t all the Gears of War: All Fronts Collection holds. It also comes with all of the Gears 2 DLC released to date, a Collectible poster, a strategy guide, a custom Xbox Live theme and a Single Player Chapter called “Road To Ruin”. The seven maps are titled Allfathers Garden, Memorial, Sanctuary, War Machine, Highway, Way Station and Nowhere. This collection may run for up to $40 altogether. This is good for those who still haven’t hopped onto the Gears of War 2 bandwagon and haven’t purchased the map packs yet.
