Rockstar Agent to be Released in 2010?

Now it isn’t know if this was a slip of the tongue, or a simple mistake by Rockstar, but it’s now rumored that Agent may be released in 2010.

For those of you who don’t know, this enigmatic Playstation 3 game, Agent, is said to be the ultimate action game involving espionage in the heart of the 1970’s. Taking place during the heat of the cold war, during all of the political assassinations and counter intelligence. According to the developers at Rockstar, Agent will prove to be a very fresh experience to gamers all over. A game that is said to completely differentiate itself from the Grand Theft Auto series, to be completely original and independant. It’s going to be an exclusive and is expected to be quite the heavy hitter and one of the best action and spy games to be available at the time. Little to say, it has quite a lot of hype surrounding it right now, though not much is known about it.

Anyway, supposedly, a gamer wrote to Rockstar begging to show some loyalty to the Playstation 3, the console in which the GTA franchise originated. Seems reasonable right? That is pretty true, and now a days, it’s hard to find as many exclusive games that used to be available. Now there’s mostly paid exclusives or timed exclusives. Well, most would think, why would Rockstar actually reply to such a common email, especially by a gamer with no public status? Well, supposedly, they did make a reply.

In the reply, Rockstar assured the gamer that they knew where they were coming from, and they appreciated the enjoyment that they have for the Playstation 3. They said that they are working hard to get their AAA lineup of Playstation 3 releases out by 2010.  Titles involving Red Dead Redemption, Max Payne 3, and the Playstation 3 exclusive Agent. Agent is a new, upcoming, title by Rockstar North, who originated the Grand Theft Auto series.

So what does this mean to the general public? If you read that at first, you may blindly think that they are saying that Agent is officially going to be released in 2010. Well, you are quite wrong if you think that. All this confirms, if this email is eeven real , is that they are working towards a 2010 release, or at the least, hoping for one. It’s an unofficial dead line, which could easiliy be extended if the circumstances call for it. So if you’re hoping for a 2010 release of Rockstar’s Agent, you may be dispointed.

Agent to be very different from GTA, says Rockstar

Not much is known about Rockstar’s upcoming exclusive Playstation 3 title, Agent, other than the little details given to us by Sam Houser. According to him, Agent, which is set in the 1970’s during the height of the Cold War, is gonna be full of espionage and and will be the “ultimate action game experience”. Sounds like a plan to me, I’m already hyped even with this little information on the game.

Ben Feder, Take-Two CEO, adds a little more information into the mix. He adds that Agent will have a very, very, different Storyline and character development than that of the GTA franchise. It’s a game set in the 1970’s about espionage, instead of the usual urban experience given by the GTA franchise. That’s typically a rags to riches type experience, for GTA. Feder says that it will  a fresh experience for gamers.

Ben Feder goes on to say doesn’t reveal much more about that, though. Besides leaving their thoughts that gamers will be blown away by it. I’m sure this game is going to be nothing short of amazing, I can’t wait. It’s reasons like this, that I’m getting the Ps3. FF13 versus, Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, God of War 3, and now Agent. Jeez, lol, all of these amazing games are going to be emptying out my wallet.

Grand Theft Auto: ChinaTown Wars headed for the PSP

Grand Theft Auto: ChinaTown Wars, arguably one of the best DS games, is now coming to the Playstation Portable as announced by Take-Two interactive. Not only that, but it’ll be downloadable for the PspGo as well.

The Founder of Rockstar Games, Sam Houser, said that they are glad to bring the hit GTA game over to the PSP and PSPGo. The PSP is a better host for Grand Theft Auto games of such magnitude, I think anyway. The Grand Theft Auto:ChinaTown Wars for the DS only sold 89,000 copies in it’s first month. For a game apart of such a popular franchise, it should have sold that many in, at most, a week. Some people began to wonder if the DS was the right choice to put such a mature game onto.

Some even suggest Piracy had something to do with the poor sales, which is understandable I guess. Many people have their R4’s ready to download any games that come out. However, those who will get the PSPGo, will not be able to hack in any way. The age of hacking possibly comes to an end with the age of digital distribution.  In any case, when Grand Theft Auto: ChinaTown Wars comes over to the PSP, sales will be able to be compared then.

Jack Tretton, President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America, says that GTA games are an important part of Playstation Platforms success. And welcomes it as an epic addition to their line-up of games. This game will be available as both UMD and Digital Download.

Yes, the next GTA IV expansion pack is coming out, shortly after the release of the “Lost and The Damned” . The new expansion, Grand Theft Auto IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony, is on it’s way out as the games second downloadable episode of content. To be released this Fall for the Xbox 360. Rockstar will also be releasing this, along with the Lost and The Damned DLC, as a standalone compilation disc. This will be titled “Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City“.

The Grand Theft Auto IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony is said to take more of a look into the glitzy high end life of Liberty City, in contrast to the biker gang life of Lost and The Damned. The main character this time around is Luis Lopez , who is a full time worker at a night club  under Tony “Gay Tony” Prince. The official announcements state that players will struggle with the competing loyalties of family and friends, and the uncertainty of who is “real” and who is “fake” in a world in which everyone has a price.

Grand Theft Auto IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony is to be released this Fall on the Xbox 360 for $20 or 1600 Microsoft Points. The Grand Theft Auto IV: Episodes From LIberty City is going to be up for $39.99. It will not require the original GTA IV disc in order to be played.

Grand Theft Auto IV Xbox 360 Elite Bundle

GTA IV Xbox 360 Elite Bundle Pack

Grand Theft Auto 4 has been out for over a year and Microsoft is celebrating this by releasing a Xbox 360 Elite bundle that comes with the Xbox 360.  Though, there is no word on the GTAIV: Lost and The Damned DLC being packed in with the bundle pack.

This birthday bundle comes with two exclusive Grand Theft Auto IV stickers, one of the GTAIV logo and the other being the Liberty City Swingers logo. Some are complaining that this is lackluster compared to the other Xbox 360 bundles. The pricing and release date of this bundle pack has not yet been addressed by Microsoft. Also the regions that this “Anniversary Bundle Pack” will be released also isn’t known, though it is speculated that it will be released for those down North.

Hmm, Two Stickers and a Game. This bundle pack is sounding quite useless, to be honest. I don’t see the selling point for it. They could have easily included vouchers for the Lost and The Damned DLC, and just maybe, it’d make the bundle pack that much more worth getting. The Fable 2 + Halo 3 bundle pack is looking way more appealing then this.
