Tekken 6 Free Downloadable Content Planned

The producer of Tekken 6 told Playstation Europe that his team is planning the creation of additional DLC for this new fighting video game. What ever it is that they are planning, which sounds like it will be more than just a new outfit, it will be free.

When the Namco Bandai producer, Katsuhiro Harada, was asked if there are any plans for further downloadable content, and he responded in saying that there is a strong possibility that there will. If there is in fact one planned, he said that it would be free to the players as well.

This is pretty good news, because it makes it known that this is not just a quick patchup or fix. This seems to be truly added on content that you will be able to download for use. This is a good idea considering the issues the game had at first. Tekken 6 had online lag issues at first, that warranted the release of a patch to fix the networking issues. So I am pretty sure that they feel compelled to release any downloadable content that they would create for free, sort of in good faith as a response to their initial mess up.

The only issue I can see with making it free is that it would not be exclusive anymore. There are actually people out there that enjoy paying for their content, because it makes them stick out while playing online and it makes them exclusive in a way. Well, what ever the case is, if they do release new content for the game, it is good to know that we, the gamers, will be able to download it for free.

PSN’s Fallout 3 Downloadable Content Delayed

Fallout 3

Those Playstation 3 Fallout 3 fans aching for some Downloadable Content will need to wait even longer then expected. How long must you wait, you ask? You may have to wait until late September to get to play the first Downloadable Content placed on the Playstation Network.

The first Downloadable Content will be Broken Steel, instead of Operation: Anchorage, due to the high demand from fans. Broken Steel will be slated for a late September release, or as the producer at Bethesda studios, Ashley Cheng, put’s it, they’re “hoping” for a late September release. So don’t be surprised if you hear another delay.

Broken Steel will be increasing the level cap to level 30 and adding an extra 4 – 5 hours of gameplay. After releasing Broken Steel, they’ll be releasing Operation: Anchorage and The Pitt soon after. They might release it at the same time, just to get them out to you as quickly as possible. Then after that, they’re gonna try and get Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta out to you as soon as possible. They’re trying to keep the wait time between the DLC releases minimal, and they have no real dates to announce about the DLC to be released after Broken Steel.

They explained, that the delay has happened because it takes extensive testing to make sure the DLC’s are ready for release. They need to test the DLC individually, test how it intereacts with the entire game, then they need to test how the DLC reacts with other DLC. It sounds complicated to say the least, so at least show some sympathy for them. As long as you’re getting these great releases, you should be happy. The Fallout 3 series is truly something any RPG fan play, if you haven’t heard of Fallout 3 or played it yet, I recommend you try it!

EA’s Fight Night Round 4 to get new DLC

Fight Night Round 4
Fight Night Round 4

Fight Night Round 4 was recently released some time last month, and with it’s release, fans were met by disappointment in the absense of button controlled punches. As if to answer the fans, EA is going to be releasing DLC that offers an alternative control scheme, for free.

EA Sports announced that a new gym, new equipment, new gameplay sliders and an alternate version of Sugar Ray Leonard, exclusive to the Xbox 360 version, will also be comingĀ  as more downloadable content for Fight Night Round 4. This DLC will be released some time in August. The DLC that will offer face button control for all of Fight Night’s punches, however, will be slated for an early September release, and no doubt MANY will be downloading that for sure. I know I will, the combinations training in Legacy mode kills me because I’m not used to the sensitivity of the analog stick as well as not being able to uppercut properly. This update will be released on both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, for free.

This is great news for many fans, because I know one of the biggest complaints for Fight Night Round 4 was that it made people use the “refined total punch controls”, which forced you to flick the analog stick, for punching. Many don’t like having to play like that, and I can understand why, it took me a while to be able to get used to it. I was moving from Virtua Fighter 5 controls to Fight Night Round 4 controls, heh, that’s quite a difference.

EA further stated that they believed the refined Total Punch Controls are the most intuitive way to throw punches in Fight Night Round 4. He went on to say that they also want fans to have an option in how they play. I believe the Total Punch Controls aren’t so bad, but it just shouldn’t be forced on players. Allowing options for players is a very useful thing, I think. According to Kotaku, who said they recieved further information from EA, the “new gameplay sliders” to be released in August will allow gamers to tweak the following attributes “Counter Punch Window, Boxer Stamina, Punch Accuracy”. Counter Punch Window, wow, I like that.

Killzone 2 Flash and Thunder Map Pack

Killzone 2’s second group of Downloadable Map Packs is coming out next month, titled as the “Flash and Thunder” Map Pack. In which two of the maps are making a return from the dead, as revamped maps from the original Killzone.

The Killzone 2 Flash and Thunder Map Pack includes two maps from the first Killzone, completely remade to be played on the Playstation 3. The two maps are titled the Beach Head map and the Southern Hills map. Beach Head is a more closed quarters match while Southern Hills is more open ended.

The Killzone 2 map packs are pretty…. small I think. For a map pack that I’m used to getting, that is. But just two maps for one map pack, seems a bit lack luster.

Fallout 3 Level Cap Raised

Fallout 3
Fallout 3

Fallout 3‘s lead producer, Jeff Gardiner, revealed in a recent interview with Eurogamer that the Broken Steel Downloadable Content that is being released in March will raise the level cap to 30. On top of that, the Broken Steel DLC removes the ending, so players can roam the lands without having to worry about the credits.

“Along with removing the game’s ‘ending’ with Broken Steel, we figure raising the level cap would allow them to [enjoy the game for longer]. We plan on raising it to level 30 – but it will be a long, hard climb to get there!”

This is pretty good news, I think. Just the other day, I saw people complaining over the internet about how they wanted to roam the wastelands without having to worry about the ending. Seems like the developers listen to their fans, that’s definitely a good thing. The level cap raise should be fun, over all, this DLC seems like it will be worth it. Any Fallout 3 fan should definitely buy this.
